FIBA World Cup 2023 Spectators Are Advised Not To Bring Vehicles, Here's The Shuttle Bus Route In The GBK Area

JAKARTA - FIBA World Cup 2023 will start rolling on August 25 - September - 2023. Indonesia is one of the hosts.

The prestigious basketball event will be centered at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta.

Carrying the theme of reducing carbon emissions, the FIBA World Cup 2023 will implement the use of electric vehicles. The organizing committee also appealed to spectators not to bring vehicles to the venue area.

"FIBA World Cup 2023 is one of the events that specifically pays attention to the environment and we really support it. So, the audience can park in parking spaces and then pick up using electric buses," said PPKGBK President Director Rahmadi Afif, in a statement quoted Thursday, August 24.

As a form of support for reducing carbon emissions, the management will provide an electric-based shuttle bus as a means of accommodation for FIBA World Cup 2023 spectators around the GBK area. This bus can be used for free for spectators who already have tickets.

There are six pick-up points that have been provided for FIBA World Cup 2023 audiences with routes starting and ending at the Gelora Bus Stop (Gate 11).

The shuttle service operation will start from August 25 to September 3, 2023. On August 25, the shuttle bus operating hours start at 14.15 WIB - 00.30 WIB. Then, August 26 - September 3, 2023, at 14.45 WIB - 00.30 WIB.

Based on the LOC FIBA World Cup 2023 scheme, this electric shuttle bus route will start from the shuttle point 1, namely at Gate 11 - Gelora bus stop (start-end), then through Asia Africa road where there is a shuttle point 2 - front stop Plaza Senayan, then turns towards the Senayan City canal road.

The bus will stop at the shuttle point 3 - stop in front of Senayan City, then turn towards Jalan Pintu Satu, shuttle point 5 - Al Bina Mosque.

The bus will continue to drive to Sudirman Street, Shuttl point 6 - Gelora Bung Karno 2 bus stop. Then head to Jalan Gatot Subroto and turn to Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, where there is a shuttle point 7 at the Archery Field stop, and return to Asia Afrika Street to shuttle point 1 again.
