Joining Al-Hilal, Mitrovic Becomes Tandem Neymar

JAKARTA – Another English Premier League player has decided to move to Saudi Arabia. Fulham striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic has officially joined Al-Hilal by breaking the transfer record for the London club.

Al-Hilal is believed to have redeemed the Serbia international for a nominal fee of £50 million (IDR 975 billion) on a three-year contract.

“The club can confirm that Aleksandar Mitrovic has tonight left to join Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. It is with a heavy heart that the club has accepted the offer after the player expressed his desire to leave," read a statement from Fulham.

The Fulham manager also confirmed Mitrovic's departure after the 0-3 defeat to Brentford in the English Premier League continued, Saturday (19/8) evening. “He is on his way to leave the club. I had information before the game and now confirmation from the club after the game that he is on his way to leave the club. The two clubs agreed and now is the time," added Silva.

Previously, The Cottagers rejected an offer from Al-Hilal, but Mitrovic insisted on completing a move to the Saudi Pro League club. He also missed out on the club's pre-season tour of the United States, despite returning to training ahead of the start of the 2023-2024 season.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is a mainstay of Fulham on the front lines, has collected 111 goals from 206 appearances during his five-year career at Craven Cottage. The 28-year-old player is Al-Hilal's newest ammunition after Neymar, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcolm.
