Shin Tae-yong: We Are Ready To Face Malaysia And Timor Leste

JAKARTA - The Indonesian U-23 national football team is ready to face the Malaysian national team in the AFF U-23 Cup which will take place at the Rayong Provincial Stadium, Thailand.

Indonesia U-23 national team coach Shin Tae-yong said his team had made good preparations to start the match in Group B.

"Our preparations are very good. We are ready to face Malaysia and Timor Leste. I cannot bring many core players who play in the Indonesian League. So, there are many new players here," said Shin Tae-yong in his official statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 18.

Indonesia U-23 national team coach Shin Tae-yong has prepared the Garuda Muda team for four days in Thailand.

The South Korean coach added that Indonesia fielded almost the same players as the SEA Games at this event.

"Because there are many matches waiting so we have to arrange the program with PSSI well. My focus now is on qualifying for the U-23 AFC Cup next month so that it can enter the U-23 Asian Cup finals in Qatar next year. For the AFF U-23 Cup I will try to do something and try new players," explained Shin Tae-yong.

After fighting Malaysia on Friday, August 18, Indonesia will face Timor Leste on Sunday, August 20.
