Rencana Duel Unifikasi Kelas Berat Tyson Fury Vs Oleksandr Usyk Terus Memudar

JAKARTA The plan between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk continues to fade. This is because the heavyweight unification duel is reportedly due to another delay.

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn claims Usyk is still playing a mandatory fight after fighting Daniel Dubois this month. Therefore, the hope of seeing Usyk and Fury get into the ring is getting fainter.

Usyk's next mandatory opponent is IBF mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic. This Croatian fighter just defended his position after a knockout win (KO) in the second round over Demsey McKean on Saturday last weekend.

"The IBF confirmed that after Usyk's fight against Dubois they would soon call Filip Hrgovic," said the head of Matchroom Boxing.

The postponement of the Fury and Usyk duels certainly brings boxing fans back. The reason is, they have hoped the fight can take place in Saudi Arabia before the end of this year.

Fury's decision to accept the challenge against Ngannou, who had minimal boxing experience, was criticized by Usyk. He considered that this duel did not benefit Fury at all.

"The man will get a decent amount of money. For Francis Ngannou this is a good opportunity, but for Tyson Fury, this is definitely not it," Usyk said.

"Isn't it strange that instead of choosing a boxer who is in the top 10, he actually chooses someone who hasn't boxed before?" he added.

Ngannou himself has prepared himself by appointing former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson as coach. Although previously without boxing experience, Ngannou was championed a lot by defeating Fury.
