Australian Open 2023 Results: Anthony Ginting Adds Indonesian Representatives In Quarter Finals, Three Doubles Lifting Suitcases

JAKARTA - Anthony Sinisuka Ginting managed to add Indonesia's representatives in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open 2023. However, Ginting's success failed to be followed by three other representatives in the double sector.

Ginting confirmed a place in the quarter-finals after winning over India's representative, Kiran George. Appearing at the State Sport Center, Sydney on Thursday 3 August afternoon WIB, Ginting won two straight games with a score of 21-15 and 21-18.

This victory brought Ginting to follow other Indonesian representatives who first qualified for the quarter-finals such as Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Pramudya/Yeremia Erich Rambitan and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

Unfortunately, not as smooth as Ginting's journey, the three representatives in the doubles who appeared before Ginting actually had to go home first. They are Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan, Praven Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti and Apriyani Rahayu / Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

In the quarter-finals, Ginting again had to fight against an opponent no less severe. He returned to meet with India's representative, Pranoy Haseena Sunil, who was the 6th seed.

Before meeting Ginting, Pranoy advanced to the quarter-finals after winning over Taipei's representative, Chi Yu Jen. He won after passing the rubber game with a score of 19-21, 21-19 and 21-13.
