Bima Sakti's squad will play an international trial match against Barcelona on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 evening WIB at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium. It was part of preparation for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
The U-17 Indonesian national team departed for Bali on Sunday, July 30. There they will continue the training camp and carry out two international test matches.
"We hope the players' games and mentality will improve as they face Barcelona Juvenil A and Kashima Antlers U-18. Qualityly, their game is very good," said Bima Sakti, quoted by the PSSI website.
The Milky Way has brought a total of 34 players to Bali to face this preparation. The Indonesian U-17 national team troops temporarily changed their name to Garuda United because of the trial against the club.
After fighting Barcelona, Garuda Muda troops will face Kashima Antlers in the same place on Saturday, August 5.
"This tournament is very good and positive for us after undergoing training camp selection in Jakarta. We have made preparations in Bali and are ready to fight them," said the 46-year-old coach.
Previously, Bima Sakti had promoted and relegated players. He repatriated nine players and called 10 new names to the training camp selection.
"I hope the development of players will be better and have good provisions before continuing the training camp to Europe and competing in the 2023 U-17 World Cup," he said.
