Messi Officially Visits Inter Miami, Ronaldo's Comments Echo: The Saudi League Is Better Than MLS

JAKARTA - Lionel Messi was officially introduced to play Inter Miami on Sunday, July 16. One day later, Cristiano Ronaldo made striking remarks about the world's league comparison.

Had been asked about the possibility of returning to Europe, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now playing for Al Nassr, has a firm answer. He said there was no open door for that, considering that he is now no longer young.

Along with that statement, Ronaldo firmly stated that the Saudi Arabian League, which is now his workland, is better than the Major League Soccer (MLS) where Messi is currently.

I will not return to play in Europe, the door is completely closed. I am 38 years old, after all, European football has lost its quality, only the Premier League is maintained, they are in front of other leagues," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by NBC on Tuesday, July 18.

The Saudi league is better than Major League Soccer (MLS). I'm sure 100 percent won't be returning to the European club. I paved the way for the Saudi league and now all the players are here," he continued when asked about the possibility of grazing in Uncle Sam's country.

Ronaldo's statement shortly after undergoing the pre-season match of Al Nassr against Celta Vigo seemed to again sparked the competition between CR7 and LM10 which appeared more than a decade ago.

Even though both of them now have a career in different leagues and are unlikely to return to one field. Ronaldo is now defending Al Nassr after lifting a suitcase from Manchester United in early 2023. Meanwhile Messi chose Inter Miami as a new club after completing his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

The two players then took big names on the European football stage following. Many famous players chose to move to Saudi Arabia such as Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, and Marcelo Brozovic.
