PALEMBANG - The Indonesian Women's National Team failed to advance to the AFF U-19 Cup final after losing badly to Thailand in the last four, Thursday, July 14, evening. Rudy Eka Priyambada's team lost 1-7 at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium in Jakabaring, Palembang, South Sumatra.

This match was witnessed directly by the General Chairperson of PSSI, Erick Thohir. He was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of PSSI Zainudin Amali and the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru.

After the match, Erick promised to equalize the coaching of women's soccer athletes in the country. The hope is that women's soccer can present proud achievements in the international competition arena, as the men's team has made.

"This defeat proves that we at PSSI must equalize coaching between women's and men's soccer athletes," said Erick, as reported by Antara.

According to Erick, one of the parts of the equalization of the coaching effort is to hold a women's special soccer competition.

The existence of this competition is considered very important in order to improve the ability and flight hours of female footballers.

This, he said, was seen during tonight's match there was a slight difference in the pattern of play between the Indonesian national team players and the more lively opposing team.

According to him, this happened because the AFF Cup semifinalists, such as Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam, already had women's soccer competitions.

"Apart from that, all the children tonight are already extraordinary, they made history for the first time through the semifinals of the AFF U-19 Puteri. They are ready to keep their spirits up in the match for the third place later. If they win, there will be a bonus," said Erick, who is also the Minister of SOEs.
