Charis Yulianto: Indonesia Still Needs STY, Different Trainers With Different Styles

JAKARTA - Shin Tae Yong's presence is still deemed very necessary for the Indonesian national team. Even if he lost when he brought Garuda Merah Putih against Argentina in an official trial match at SUGBK, Jakarta, Monday, June 19, the touch of the South Korean coach's master was still needed.

At least that's the opinion that came from Charis Yulianto. The assistant coach of the senior national team who was a subordinate acknowledged the big difference between STY and local Indonesian coaches.

"It's not about the professionalism, because I'm sure all the national team coaches will be professional. But what sets him apart from the others is how he changes his mentality, and the perspective of players in a team and apps in the match," said the former captain of the early 200s era.

Charis, who was once the mainstay stoper of the national team in the AFF Cup, said that STY was not only disciplined in dealing with the team. But know how to manage a team. There are currently 12 assistant coaches. Something that may rarely happen when Charis used to still play in a red and white uniform.

"ASY empowers all assistants well. I'm here not only to see how he trains, and try to implement it in the future," said the former Arema Malang player.

In bringing the game (reading the game) Charis admits, STY is much better and more thorough than the coaches who had handled him during his time as a player, over when he was his assistant.

"This ASY also builds players physically well, through good physical, mentally it will also be lifted," said Charis. Regarding his coaching style, he admits, if STY is different from other coaches. The approach to players is different, and I also understand that each coach also has their own styles," Charis said.

Although currently there has been no charming achievement given by STY to Indonesia, Charis sees how the game foundation has been built by the South Korean coach.
