JAKARTA - The Circle K Run event was held again after being vacuumed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this fourth edition, this annual running event carries the name Sunset Run Bali 2023.
Sunset Run Bali 2023 will be held in the Mertasari Beach area, Denpasar, Bali on July 1. The participants will compete for a total prize of IDR 100 million.
The event, which in 2019 was attended by 2,500 participants, now carries a different theme than the previous event. As the name implies, the competition will be held in the afternoon before sunset, of course it will pamper Bali's very beautiful scenery participants.
This running competition is divided into 2 categories, namely 5 km running and 10 km running. Organizers target participants from the running community, young executives and employees, students, athletes and former athletes, family and tourists.
"With the background of public awareness of the importance of sports for health, we made breakthroughs in running events that are different from running events in general. We also want to support the government's movement by increasing the acceleration of the people's economy and tourism through the creation of sports-based activities," explained Corporate Affairs Director Circle K Indonesia, Mr. Gunawan Indro Baskoro.
This is the third time CK Run has been held on the Island of the Gods. Race Director of Sunset Run Bali 2023, Riena Tambunan explained, Bali was again chosen to be a venue because it is a famous tourist destination in Indonesia and the world.
"With an extraordinary view and a very sportsmanlike and cooperative society. And Mertasari Beach was chosen to be a venue because it has a wide road, a beach with shallow and safe water for families and children, has a fairly wide parking lot, an area that is exclusive and easily accessible to the public," he said.
Rina revealed that her party is targeting the number of participants of more than 3,000 people and visitors to 6,000 people
Meanwhile, this event will also be colored by a strategic program that will be held on July 2, 2023 at Taman Inspiration, Mertasari Beach. Later there will be 1,000 mangrove seeds planting.
The property program for planting mangrove seeds is in collaboration with traditional villages in Bali. Through this activity, the organizers, who collaborated with Danone, voiced the theme "Berplastic Wise".
