The U-22 National Team's Last Exercise Material Ahead Of Facing The Philippines At The 2023 SEA Games More To Taktikal

JAKARTA - The U-22 Indonesian national team will undergo their inaugural match of the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games against the Philippines. The match will take place on Saturday, April 29, at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh at 16.00 WIB.

The players underwent their final training session at The Dream Visakha Training Camp on Friday, April 27. Persija Jakarta player Rio Fahmi said the last exercise was more focused on game tactics.

"Alhamdulillah, preparations against the Philippines are going well. We will carry out what Coach Indra Inshaallah instructed us to carry out," said Rio Fahmi in a written statement received by Voi on Friday, April 27.

"Today's training material is more tactical, how to deal with the Philippines," he continued.

At the 2023 SEA Games, the U-22 national team is in Group A with the Philippines, Myanmar, Timor Leste, and the host. The inaugural match against the Philippines will be played optimally in order to pocket good capital for the follow-up match.

Rio Fahmi said the team did not experience adaptation difficulties because Cambodia's conditions were not much different from Indonesia. For this reason, not many obstacles are felt.

"For obstacles, because it is not too much different from Indonesia when it is hot, so it is not a problem. Alhamdulillah, after two days of arriving in Cambodia conditions have started to improve, friends also feel that they are starting to fit and God willing, they will be one hundred percent ready for Saturday's match tomorrow," he said.

Looking at the inaugural match against the Philippines, Rio Fahmi did not hesitate to set a high target for the team's struggle. However, one important thing he emphasized was the condition of the team which had to remain prime.

"Of course the first target is three points, the second is good and the third, all players are safe from injury," he concluded.
