JAKARTA - A surprise was created in the quarter-finals of the Europa League 2022/2023. Manchester United, who became one of the winning candidates, was eliminated.

MU must recognize Sevilla's superiority with aggregate 2-5. That was after the Red Devils lost 0-3 in the last eight second leg which took place at Sevilla headquarters, Friday, early morning WIB.

Blunder Harry Maguire and David de Gea colored MU's defeat. Youssef En-Nesyri scored two goals in this match with one other goal scored by Loic Bade.

This result made it certain that Sevilla met Juventus in the last four after the Italian club eliminated Sporting CP 2-1.

Meanwhile, AS Roma managed to avenge their defeat in the first leg by beating Feyenoord 4-1 in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final at Stadio Olimpico. The Serie A club also has the right to advance to the semifinals with an aggregate advantage of 4-2.

Roma's four goals were scored by Leonardo Spinazzola, Paulo Dybala, Stephan El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Pellegrini, respectively. Feyenoord equalized through goals from Igor Paixo.

Jose Mourinho's men in the semifinals will face German representatives Bayer Leverkusen who get rid of the Belgian Union Saint-Griffice club on a 5-2 aggregate.
