Tesla V4 Fast Charging Will Be Available Across The UK

JAKARTA - Tesla recently accelerated the development of global electric charging by bringing the latest generation electric vehicle Superchargers to the UK.

This supercharger not only offers fast charging, but also introduces a practical non-cash payment system.

Autocar reported on Friday, August 25, this charging station is known as V4 and equipped with a three-meter-long cable capable of charging up to 250 kW for electric vehicles using CCS connectors.

For electric vehicle users who want to access this facility, there is a payment option with a card or through the Tesla application at a rate of 50 rupiah (British currency) or IDR 9,375 per kWh.

While this charging power is still out of other high power-producing facilities, like the one owned by Gridserve with 350 kW, Tesla believes that V4 will get an update via online updates that will make charging faster in the future.

V4 displays a more modern design compared to the previous generation, V3. With black and white clothes that are more minimalistic, and equipped with a digital screen that makes it easier for users to make payment transactions using a card with digital receipts that can be downloaded via a QR code.

The UK's first V4 Supercharger Station can be found in Tottenham, North London, located in Tesla's dealers. However, Tesla plans to expand this charging network to all parts of the UK.

The introduction of this charging network in the UK is in line with the company's vision to accelerate the development of future electric vehicles. Tesla plans to install at least 1,100 charging stations in 115 locations, with 10 facilities in each area.

In the US, several vehicle manufacturers have agreed to support Tesla's use of NACS charging. Among them include Ford, GM, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan. Honda and Acura also recently hinted at adopting this technology on their latest vehicles. Although several other manufacturers have agreed to build their own charging infrastructure in the US, including seven global automotive giants such as BMW, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Honda.

In this joint effort, the seven auto giants are committed to building an easily accessible, convenient, and reliable electric vehicle charging network, with plans to provide 30,000 high charging points to facilitate millions of electric vehicle users.
