Achim Anscheidt Resigns From Bugatti's Head Of Design After 19 Years Of Serving

Achim Anscheidt, the figure behind the design of several models of Bugatti's fastest car, has decided to step down from his position as head of the manufacturer's design after 19 years in office. This leadership period has given birth to several iconic models of Bugatti, such as Chiron, Chiron Super Sport, Veyron, Divo, Mistral, and Bolide.

With respect, Achim expressed his pride for his contribution in developing the models that become the most respected cars in his class.

"I am very grateful to all those who support Bugatti and our design department, who have helped Bugatti reach a position that will make Ettore and Jean (Bugatti founder) proud," Anscheidt said in Bugatti's official statement, Thursday, July 20.

Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, admits that designing a Bugatti car requires special expertise to be the best. Achim has a natural technical understanding of all these demands, able to create beauty from the functional needs of the car.

Although stepping down from the position of head of design, Achim will not completely leave Bugatti. As a senior advisor to the CEO of Bugatti Rimac, Mate Rimac, he will contribute to presenting the latest model from Bugatti.

Cinta Akhim in the automotive world was passed down from her father, Hans-Georg Anscheidt, who is the three-time champion in the 50 cc world motorcycle racing event. He has started his career in car design at the age of 20.

His design education began at the ArtCenter College of Designe in Pasadena, California, USA, and graduated in 1993. After that, Achim joined Porsche Design Weissach as a junior designer.

In 2004, VW Group gave Achim the opportunity as a design expert at Barcelona and Berlin. And this is what eventually connects him with Bugatti.

Since serving as head of Bugatti's design in 2004, Achim has led the Veyron project by developing it for the better. Under his leadership, models such as Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and Veyron Super Sport have been known as high-performance cars.

Currently, the responsibility of Bugatti's head of design has been handed over to Frank Heyl. Heyl will face an interesting task in developing Chiron's successor and several other models in the future.

Heyl will continue Achim's vision, working with Mate Rimac, to present the models until around 2030. Chiron's successor has gone through a depiction process for more than two years and will be introduced in 2024 before launching to market in 2026.
