Wakasau Calls The Evacuation Of The Debris Of The Tucano Plane Takes A Month

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (Wakasau) Marshal Madya Agustinus Gustaf Brugman said the evacuation of the EMB-314 Super Tucano TNI-AU fighter plane that crashed in the Gunung Bromo National Park area, Pamekasan Regency, East Java (East Java), could take a month.

"Because the terrain is quite difficult, the overall aircraft is likely to be completed in approximately a month's time," he said. He was met at the Puri Ardhya Garini building at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base (Lanud) Jakarta in Jakarta, Thursday, November 23, and was confiscated by Antara. He explained that several difficulties experienced by the evacuation team, including difficult terrain in the form of steep routes and far from the highway, as well as large enough debris to be lifted. The condition of the crash site was foggy, thus blocking the operational distance of the evacuation team in the field. The evacuation team could not directly transport all the debris from that location. They had to cut the debris first so that it was easy to lift. He said that some aircraft debris, video data recorder (VDR), and a network data cartridge (NCDC) had been found by the evacuation team. He admitted that the progress of the evacuation effort could be achieved thanks to the help of local residents. The crash site of the two aircraft is in the form of steep and hilly terrain. The investigation team from the Airworthiness and Safety Center of the Indonesian Air Force (Puslaiklambangjaau) together with the Engineering Squadron (Skatek) Abdulrachman Saleh Malang Air Base managed to arrive at the location on Friday 17 November. The incident crashed the two planes, each of which had registration numbers TT-3111 and TT-3103, causing four crews to be killed, namely the First Marshal TNI (Anumerta) Subhan, First Marshal TNI (Anumerta) Widio Hadijaya, Air Marshal (Anumerta) Sandhra Gunawan, and Lieutenant Colonel Pnb (Anumerta) Yuda A Seta.
