JAMBI - SAR team found a 12-year-old child who was reported drowned in Batang Merangin River, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The victim was found dead.
Citing Antara, the Head of the Jambi Search and Rescue Office Kornelis said a boy named Ziat Assidiq was found on Monday, November 20, about one kilometer from where he was reported drowned.
Ziat was reported to have been carried away by the current and drowned while swimming with his friends in the Batang Merangin River on Sunday 19 November at around 16.00 WIB.
Kornelis said that the Jambi Search and Rescue Office immediately dispatched officers to conduct a search after receiving a report regarding the sinking of Ziat in the Batang Merangin River.
Using rubber boats and boats belonging to residents, officers from the Bungo SAR Post and the Regional Disaster Management Agency followed the river to look for Ziat.
After finding Ziat's body, officers evacuated and took his body to the family's house.
