JAKARTA - BPJS Kesehatan is ready to support the five-year democratic party through optimizing health history screening services for all organizers of the 2024 General Election.
This was marked by the issuance of a Joint Circular (SEB) between the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the General Elections Commission (KPU), the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and BPJS Kesehatan coordinated by the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), regarding the Implementation of Health History Screening and Optimization of Active Participation of the National Health Insurance Program for General Election Organizing Officers and Regional Head Elections in 2024.
"Scringing history of health is one of the promotive and preventive benefits for participants of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN). Health History screening is carried out to determine the potential risks of chronic diseases as early as possible so that FKTP can immediately follow up so as not to become sick," said BPJS Health President Director Ali Ghufron Mukti in a release, Tuesday, November 21, quoted by Antara.
According to Ali, in the SEB, the Ministry of Home Affairs will coordinate all regional governments for governors and regents/mayors to ensure that the KPU and BAWASLU of provinces/regencies/cities in their respective regions direct all election organizers to follow the screening of the medical history of BPJS Kesehatan.
He said that screening of medical history must also be carried out by the KPU and BAWASLU as well as all the subordinates under it.
"This SEB was handled by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Chairman of the General Election Commission Hasyim Asy'ari, Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency Rahmat Bagja and President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Ali Ghufron Mukti and witnessed by the Presidential Chief of Staff of the Republic of Indonesia Moeldoko, at the Presidential Staff Office, Jakarta, Monday (20 November)," he said.

Therefore, he said, if election officials have conducted a health history screening, then we can monitor the health risk whether it is included in the category of risk or not at risk of disease. In addition, it can also find information about the membership status of JKN whether it is active, inactive or not registered.
Ghufron explained, if the results of the screening of officers fall into the category of not at risk of illness, then it is certain that officers can continue their activities and responsibilities in the general election. However, for officers who have risky results and their JKN membership status is active, they can carry out further health checks at the First Level Health Facility (FKTP) in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan.
"The results of filling out health history screening have no effect on the status of officers as election and regional election organizers in 2024. For the protection of health insurance through JKN, if there are election officers who have not become JKN participants, the local government is obliged to encourage officers to register themselves as JKN participants in the Non-Wage Recipient Workers (PBPU)/independent Worker segment or as Wage Recipient Workers (PPU) if the officer is a worker," said Ali.
