BANDA ACEH - Langsa Resort Police (Polres) is investigating allegations of coercion or rape by the leadership of one of the village heads against two female students at the religious learning and education institution.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Langsa Police, Ipda Rahmad, said the head of the dayah with the initials MR (38), a resident of Langsa City, North Sumatra, was arrested after reports from the victim's parents.

"MR was arrested for allegedly raping or sexually harassing two of his female students from 2021 to 2023. The act was allegedly carried out in a power environment," said Rahmad as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

The chronology of the incident began in 2021. At that time, the victim who was still a minor became a new student at the village. At that time, MR often paid attention to victims.

Then, MR looked for an opportunity to talk to the victim and when he finished the Koran, MR ordered the victim to stay on the spot. At that time, MR asked the victim regarding his longing which was considered no longer a girl.

"The victim did not answer the question. Furthermore, MR gave a piece of paper containing inappropriate sentences. Since then, MR has often tried to approach the victim," he said.

Rahmad said MR took advantage of the situation when the victim was sick. At that time, all the students in the village worked together. MR took the time to enter the victim's booth.

"MR entered the victim's room and locked the door. MR gave a reason to want to repair the fan in the victim's room. In that room, MR forced the victim," said Rahmad.

After the incident, two days later, MR gave a message via a piece of paper to the victim which read, "I'll meet you in the canteen, when everyone sleeps." The victim obeyed.

On the determined day at around 02.00 WIB, after all the students fell asleep, the victim came to the canteen and MR was already there. After that, MR pulled the victim's hand and forced the victim again.

After the incident, MR often threatened the victim if he didn't want to do it again. MR will also reveal that the victim's disgrace is no longer a girl.

"This act occurred repeatedly, namely in the canteen, empty houses, bathrooms, prayer rooms and at MR's house in the dayah or pesantren environment," he said.

The victim finally came out of the power and complained to his parents. Furthermore, the victim's parents made a police report. In the report, the incident of forced detention occurred four times.

"From the results of the investigation, it is also suspected that MR was carried out against another female student. MR mode by asking the victim to provide food or make food for him," said Rahmad.

Now, MR is being held at the Langsa Police Station to account for his actions. Investigators charged MR with multiple articles, namely harassment of minors with a prison sentence of seven years and five months.

"Investigators also ensnared the alleged perpetrator with jinayat law and harassment against adult women. The threat of imprisonment is three years and seven months," said Rahmad.
