Sukabumi Police Reveals Land Certificate Embezzlement Mafia

Sukabumi Police together with Cicurug Police managed to arrest the perpetrators of embezzlement and land certificate fraud that occurred in the Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"The fraud and embezzlement case committed by suspect Ody Wahyudin occurred on August 31, 2023 at around 14.00 WIB," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.

According to Maruly, the arrest of the suspect began with a victim named Burhanudin making a police report number LP/B/53/IX/2023/SPKT/Cicurug Police/Sukabumi Police/West Java Police on September 8, 2023.

Then the Criminal Investigation Unit of the CIcurug Police in collaboration with the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim developed this case. From the results of the investigation, the modus operandi carried out by the suspect pretended to be able to help deal with the problem of the victim's land.

In addition, to take care of the certificate, the victim gave Rp70,011,000 to the suspect, even the victim, who is a resident of Perum Setia Budi, Bangbayang Village, Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency, handed over the land certificate to the suspect.

However, after waiting for a while, Ody did not appear and was difficult to contact, finally the victim decided to make a police report. Receiving the report, a joint team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cicurug Police and the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim carried out the development.

On Monday, (13/11) the suspect was arrested in the Sukabumi Regency area. From the hands of the alleged perpetrators of fraud and embezzlement, evidence was confiscated, such as proof of transfer, passbooks and ATM cards.

"The victim's transaction with the suspect is by transfer, due to the case of the victim losing up to tens of millions of rupiah and until now the suspect is still being held in the Cicurug Police detention cell for further development and investigation," he added.

Maruly said the arrest of the suspect was proof of the seriousness and service of the Sukabumi Police to the community. In addition, it is his party's commitment to taking firm action against perpetrators of criminal acts in accordance with applicable law.

Community trust in police services must be maintained and the Sukabumi Police and their ranks are ready to provide justice for victims who feel aggrieved. He also appealed to residents not to be afraid to report if they become victims of crime and his party is committed to giving their best.
