BPBD Finds 3 Dead Victims Buried In Landslides In Tabalong

The Tabalong Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) team, South Kalimantan, found the bodies of three victims buried by landslides in the mining area in Mangpekum Village, RT08, Muara Uya District.

Head of the Tabalong Regency BPBD Management and Preparedness Section Muhammad Tamjid said the volunteer team had taken the three dead victims to the hut, while the other two victims were still being searched.

"The report that there were currently three dead victims have been found and have been taken to the hut. The remaining two victims have not been found," said Tamjid in Tabalong as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 18.

Tamjid said the five victims were buried by landslides in the mining area on the border of Tabalong (Kalsel)-East Kalimantan Regency on Friday (17/5) night.

The victim who died was informed that Bintit, Petruk and one victim had not yet been identified.

From the data compiled by BPBD Tabalong, the identities of landslide victims, namely Wahyudin (30) a resident of Ilung District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, Harianto (30), Hadri (40), Fitriadi (30) and Sutris (25).

Currently, two units of the Banjarmasin and Tabalong Basarnas teams are making search efforts and evacuating victims.

The Tabalong BPBD team has built a landslide evacuation post in Mangpandum Village, RT08, Muara Uya District, Tabalong Regency.

According to members of the Tabalong Fachri TRC BPBD, officers were constrained and had difficulty accessing the landslide location because of the mountainous area and it took four to eight hours to travel.

The Head of BPBD for Tabalong Regency, Haris Fakhrozi participated in evacuation activities at landslide locations.
