Drivers Must Obey The Rules In Jakarta, 70 Additional ETLE Cameras Operate January 2024

Polda Metro Jaya will complete the installation of 70 additional Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) cameras in the Jakarta area, in December 2023. This addition was made to increase public awareness of driving regulations.

"(Additional ETLE camera) Which is 70. Already, it has (started installation)," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Monday, November 13.

The plan is that dozens of additional ETLE cameras will start operating in January 2024. However, it is not explained further about the location or installation point.

"This December, everything has been completed (the installation of 70 ETLE cameras). It's just a matter of running for operations. Yes, in January, it has to be operational," he said.

Latif only said that the additional 70 ETLE cameras would monitor routes with many traffic violations, such as fighting, entering the TransJakarta route, and also entering or passing the Non-Toll Flyover (JLNT).

"Yes, it is necessary that there are many violations that we need to monitor," said Latif.

Meanwhile, in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya or Jakarta and its surroundings, 98 ETLE cameras have been installed.

Installation and operation of ETLE cameras began in 2020. At that time, 57 cameras were installed around the DKI Jakarta area.

Then, an addition will be carried out in 2021. The number is around 41 cameras. The addition was carried out in conjunction with the launch of a national scale ETLE.
