Central Lombok Police Satreskrim investigators, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, are still investigating the cause of the hilly land fire in Pelambik Village, Southwest Praya District. "For now, we are still investigating whether there was an element of intent or not," said Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Iwan Hidayat in Praya, as reported by Antara, Friday, October 10. If the fire is caused intentionally, it will process it according to the applicable law, so that it can provide a deterrent effect on these individuals. The police appealed to the public not to open new land by burning and not burning garbage carelessly. "Currently it is still summer, so it is hoped that we will protect the environment together," he said. Previously, members of the Southwest Praya Police of the Central Lombok Police managed to extinguish a land fire in Pelambek Village, Southwest Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, Wednesday (9/11) at 20.00 WITA. His party received reports from the community regarding land fires in Pelambik Village and then members of the Resort Police immediately moved to the TKP (Place of Case). " “ We immediately went to the crime scene where the flames were located, quick action was necessary and urgently needed. We don't want later from a small origin to become big," he said. The fire extinguishing was assisted by local residents because it was feared that it would spread to residential areas considering that the flames were getting bigger due to strong winds. His party together with residents extinguished the flames using makeshift tools, using wooden branches by hitting the hotspots to prevent and anticipate spreading into residential areas.
