Toddler In Bogor Dies In Waterfall Overflowing During Heavy Rain

BOGOR - A toddler with the initials MM (28 months) died allegedly being dragged by a ditch in Gang Sate, Mulyaharja Village, Bogor City, last Thursday. South Bogor Police Chief Commissioner Diana S said, the incident occurred at around 17.00 WIB. Before the incident, the victim left the house while his mother was in the bathroom while his grandmother was in the kitchen. "At that time the door of his house was in an open state. No one knew that the child was out. Suddenly it disappeared," Diana said, Friday, November 10. Allegedly, the victim slipped and fell and was carried away by the current of the ditch in front of his house. "So this incident was not known by his parents, who even reported the missing child. Hearing the news, local residents then helped search for the victim's whereabouts. The local BPBD also intervened and coordinated with TRC personnel. "The victim slipped and was carried away due to the heavy overflow of the sewer water because at that time Bogor was in heavy rain," said Theo.

Local residents and BPBD then found the victim caught in a ditch which was approximately 100 meters from the scene (TKP) at 19.20 WIB. The victim was taken to the nearest doctor, but his life could not be saved and was declared dead.
