A Gang Of Thieves In Southeast Sulawesi Arrested, 9 Motorbikes Confiscated

The Resmob Team of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) arrested five perpetrators of motor vehicle theft (Curanmor) and confiscated as many as nine stolen motorbikes.

Director of Criminal Investigation at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Dody Ruyatman, said the five perpetrators of theft were named Soleh (43), Adi (310, Sarman (32), Bambang (28), and Ifal (40). The five perpetrators are recidivists who have been in and out of prison many times.

"The perpetrators of the recidivists, they have been detained, but they are back again doing their actions of stealing motorbikes," said Dodi as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 9.

In disclosing the theft syndicate, his party first arrested one of the suspects named Ifal.

After the development was carried out, the Southeast Sulawesi Police Resmob Team again arrested four other suspects in different places.

"From the hands of these perpetrators, we managed to confiscate as many as nine stolen motorbikes and other evidence such as a letter T neck key and a sharp weapon," he explained.

In carrying out the action, the Curanmor syndicates carried a number of equipment that had been prepared, and then targeted motorbikes parked in housing and boarding houses around Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.

"They are eyeing parked motorbikes," said Dodi.

After successfully stealing a motorcycle, they then sold it to other people at varying prices.

"The money is used to meet their daily needs," he said.
