The Rp150 thousand levy policy for foreign tourists to the Island of the Gods, will be carried out simultaneously through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and all ports in Bali, including Gilimanuk Port, in Jembrana Regency and Padangbai Port in Karangasem Regency, Bali, starting February 14, 2024.

Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, said that at the entrance at the port in Bali a counter post would be installed for a levy of IDR 150 thousand for foreign tourists and those who had not paid would be directed by officers to pay the levy.

"Yes, simultaneously, either in the air or in the sea at Benoa Port and also in the domestic flight of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, there is a transit from Jakarta (tourist using flights) domestically (to Bali)," Pemayun said, Thursday, November 9.

"We are also targeting Gilimanuk and Padangbai ports. And we will definitely install a counter there, if there are foreigners, we will direct them, have they paid or not, this is how it is done. However, I still haven't checked how many counters (prepared)," he added.

Untuk menyukseskan pungutan turis asing, pihaknya sudah melakukan sosialisasi atau notification terkait pungutan Rp150 ribu kepada seluruh Kedutauan Republik Indonesia (KBRI) dan juga kepada Embassy (Kedutas Besar), asosiasi pariwisata, consulate yang ada di Bali serta kepada Kementerian Perhubungan (Kemenhub) agar disampaikan kepada maskapai penerbangan.

"In terms of readiness, and the socialization (or) notification, that Bali will carry out levies, we have conveyed it thoroughly at the Indonesian Embassy, all embassy of friendly countries in Jakarta, consulates in Bali, all tourism associations, including we also convey to the Ministry of Transportation to convey to airlines," he said.

Payments for foreign tourist levies are encouraged through the Bali Regional Development Bank (BPD).

"There is Bank BRI for VoA appointed by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, immigration. If we allow it or not, it would be like that. And we want to encourage Bank BPD, for example, because we have an account there because it's all without cash and this is by online so that everything is transparent," he said.

The levy mechanism of IDR 150 thousand has been stated in the Governor Regulation (Pergub) of Bali Number 36, Year 2023 and will be applied on February 14, 2023 in accordance with Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 6 of 2023.

"If the mechanism has been contained in Governor Regulation 36. The levy procedure is complete there and it is clear. And the mandate from the Regional Regulation reads on February 14, 2024, it has been implemented," he said.
