Udin Cable Defendant Of Sound System Thief Recidivist Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison

The defendant Syamsudin Silawane alias Udin Cable who is a special theft recidivist in the car/ANTARA sound system.

AMBON - The Ambon District Court (PN) judges sentenced Syamsudin Silawane alias Udin Kabel, the defendant in the special theft recidivist case on the sound system of a resident's car, with a six-year prison sentence.

The chairman of the Ambon District Court judges Orpa Marthina stated that the defendant was found guilty of violating Article 363 Paragraph (1) 5 Juncto Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

"The defendant Syamsudin Silawane alias Udin Kabel was sentenced to six years in prison and determined that the defendant remained in detention," said the panel of judges as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 7.

The aggravating thing for the defendant was sentenced to prison because he was a recidivist in the same case and was only released from prison in January 2023, as well as his actions were detrimental to other people.

"Meanwhile, the mitigating thing is that the defendant is polite and admits his actions," he said.

The verdict of the panel of judges is also the same as the demands of the Ambon District Prosecutor Donald Retob, who in the previous trial charged the defendant with six years in prison.

The theft by the defendant repeatedly at a number of locations in Ambon City, by breaking the car window to steal the sound system, even though he was just released in January 2023.

Several residents who had been victims of theft intentionally installed surveillance cameras (CCTV) in the car garage until they were finally caught by a number of perpetrators of the crime, including the defendant and finally arrested by the police a few months ago.

Based on the judge's decision, the defendant Udin Kabel stated that he accepted, so that this decision had been signed and had permanent legal force.
