JAKARTA - The attorney for the former President Director (Managing Director) of Bakti Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif in his duplicate requested that the amount of replacement money charged to his client be reduced by the assets that had been confiscated first. "As outlined in the indictment and memorandum of defense, it turned out that the defendant was only proven to receive Rp. 5 billion rupiah from Irwan Hermawan and Jemy Sutjiawan, then the property of other goods and money confiscated in this case must be returned to the party where it was confiscated," said Aldres Napitupulu, attorney of Anang Achmad Latif, in a duplicate trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) (Jakpus), Monday 6 November, confiscated by Antara. In the replica submitted by the public prosecutor (JPU) it was stated that the house purchased by Anang Achmad Latif in Kota Baru Parahyangan allegedly obtained from the flow of funds of alleged corruption in the procurement of 4G BTS infrastructure and its supporting infrastructure, which was given through Irwan Hermawan and Jemy Sutjiawan. However, Anang's attorney emphasized the property of other objects charged other than the house, bought by Anang before the procurement of the BTS project. "The other property was proven to have been purchased with legal money and has been recorded in the LHKPN and SPT of the defendant and his wife since 2019 long before being able to provide the work on the provision of 4G BTS infrastructure and supporting infrastructure which was charged as predicate crime," said Aldres Napitupulu.

This duplicate trial also presented other defendants related to the alleged corruption case of BTS 4G, namely former Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate and former Human Development Expert (Hudev) Universitas Indonesia (UI) Yohan Suryanto. The trial agenda for reading the verdict against Johnny G. Plate, Anang Achmad Latif, and Yohan Suryanto will be held on Wednesday 8 November at the Central Jakarta District Court. Former Director of Bakti Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif was sentenced to 18 years in prison and demanded to pay a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 12 months in prison, and to pay compensation of Rp. 5 billion, subsidiary to 9 years in prison.
