JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government received an additional budget of Rp13.36 billion for the allocation of improving community welfare, namely the poverty and stunting alleviation program until the end of 2023 from the central government.
The addition of the budget included in the amendment to the APBD for the 2023 fiscal year has been discussed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD Budget Agency (Banggar) together with the DKI regional government budget team (TAPD) and approved.
Chairman of the DKI DPRD as well as Chairman of the Banggar DPRD DKI Jakarta Prasetyo Edi Marsudi said the budget was an appreciation from the central government which was given to DKI in the form of transfer funds.
"With this allocation, we agree to add to activities that must be right on target and touch the welfare interests of the people of Jakarta," Prasetyo said in a statement quoted on Monday, November 6.
Responding to the addition of the budget, Secretary of Commission B WA Ode Herlina encouraged the Transmigration and Energy Manpower Office to add allocations and types of training to increase job opportunities for the deaf, in the hope of improving their economy.
"My hope is that the trainings, courses facilitated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government can be increased in quotas and oriented to filling out workers in BUMD. The training must lead to needs in BUMD," said Wa Ode.
Meanwhile, Member of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, Israyani, asked the DKI Provincial Government to increase the amount of individual subsidies in the additional food supply program (PMT), which is currently only worth IDR 10,000 per serving.
"We from Commission A yesterday recommended that the figure of Rp. 10,000 for PMT from last year be a concern. So if it remains the figure of Rp. 10,000 per person, we can feed our younger siblings, our children because later it will have something to do with improving their nutrition," said Israyani.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Joko Agus Setyono explained that the central government transfer funds with the allocation of welfare improvement activities were detailed in two programs, namely handling extreme poverty in Jakarta at IDR 5.96 billion and reducing the stunting rate in Jakarta by IDR 7.36 billion.

"So, the addition of this ceiling is not us who have to look for funds, but the incentives from the central government whose goal has been determined are to reduce stunting status and extreme poverty," Joko explained.
Joko emphasized that the central government gave the funds to the DKI Provincial Government because Jakarta was considered successful in handling stunting and extreme poverty. "That's why the incentives are given to us, because they are considered successful," he continued.
