Close To Jakarta, Bogor City Is Alert For Monkeypox Cases

BOGOR - The Bogor City Health Office (Dinkes) admitted that until now, there have been no cases of monkeypox (Mpox) in its area. Even so, the Health Office appealed to the public to apply Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) as a form of alert transmission.

"Until now, the report on the confirmed Mpox case has not been found in Bogor City," said the Head of the Bogor City Health Office, Sri Nowo Retno, Monday, November 6.

Sri Nowo Retno said, as a form of increasing early vigilance against the current situation, the Bogor City Health Office has taken several steps. Moreover, Bogor is a buffer zone for DKI Jakarta, which has found several cases of monkeypox.

Retno appealed to the public not to panic regarding the development of the monkeypox situation in Indonesia. By implementing PHBS, and consuming foods with balanced nutrition as self-protection against various types of diseases.

"Furthermore, identify the typical symptoms of Mpox disease, visit or report to health workers at health centers and hospitals if they experience symptoms or contact with suspected Mpox," he said.

Symptoms of monkeypox, said Retno, usually fever, severe headache, muscle aches, back pain, weakness, swelling of lymph nodes (in the neck, armpits or groin) and rashes or skin lesions. Ruam usually starts in one to three days from a fever.
