Baznas Humanitarian Assistance For Palestine Enters Halim Air Base, Released By Jokowi Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The humanitarian aid package of the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) for Palestine has been entered and received by the Indonesian Air Force (AU) in the warehouse of Halim Perdana Kusuma Airbase Jakarta.

It is planned that the humanitarian aid will be flown to Palestine, Saturday (4/11), and released directly by President Joko Widodo.

"This humanitarian aid is the first stage. Furthermore, Baznas will send aid directly to Palestine through the Rafah, Egypt, in coordination with the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian Red Cross," said the Head of Baznas for Distribution and Empowerment of Saidah Sakwan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.

Saidah said the first phase of assistance was in the form of food packages, disability tools, winter packages, family kits, and hygiene kits.

All the aid transported by the six large trucks was then unloaded by forklift and placed in the warehouse of Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Base to be combined with other aid.

The logistical assistance collected weighed 21 tons in collaboration with a number of LAZ partners and companies, such as regional Baznas, Baznas Yakesma, Rumah Zakat, JSIT Indonesia, Kitabisa.com, Attaqwa Putri Bekasi, Shopee, Ayobantu.com, Tokopedia, Bukalapak, and Blibli.

The plan, said Saidah, is to send the second phase of aid in the form of meeting the needs of residents' medicines.

Baznas is also preparing funds and human resources (HR) to help restore and rebuild infrastructure in Palestine.

Saidah said the assistance was included in the third stage of the humanitarian mission that would be carried out by Baznas RI, after the first stage of sending logistics and assistance for the second phase of health.
