Anwar Usman Oaths It Really Hurts When He Is Absent From RPH 3 Cases: I Take Medicine Then Sleep

JAKARTA - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman vowed that he was really sick so he had to be absent from the meeting of the judge's deliberation (RPH) when deciding three judicial review cases of the election law regarding the requirements for the presidential and vice presidential age limit.

"By Allah, I am indeed sick. I am sick, but still come in. I took medicine, then fell asleep," said Anwar after being questioned by the Constitutional Court Honorary Council (MKMK) regarding the alleged violation of the code of ethics at building II of the Constitutional Court, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.

Anwar arrived at building II of the Constitutional Court, Jakarta, at 13.40 WIB, and came out at 14:40 WIB. He was inside building II of the Constitutional Court for about an hour for questioning by the MKMK, chaired by Jimly Asshiddiqie.

Anwar admitted that he had been doing the right thing during his time as a judge since 1985.

"Alhamdulillah I've never done anything that caused me to deal like this," he said.

Today's examination is the second time for Anwar Usman as a reported case of alleged violation of the constitutional judge's code of ethics by the Constitutional Court.

The Constitutional Court (MKMK) investigated AnwarUsman along with eight other judges of the Constitutional Court regarding case decisions Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 regarding the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates at least 40 years or have or are currently occupying positions elected through general elections, including regional head elections.

Previously, Anwar Usmandududung lied for reasons of his absence from RPHperkara Number 29/PUU-XXI/2023, 51/PUU-XXI/2023 and Number 55/PUU-XXI/2023.
