Firli's Rebuttal To Meet SYL On Jalan Kertanegara Is Considered A Former KPK Investigator No Longer Trustworthy

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Yudi Purnomo considers that there is no longer a trustworthy statement by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.

This was conveyed by Yudi in response to the nod of the head of the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo when he was asked about his meeting with Firli on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta. This incident occurred in a house later called Polda Metro Jaya which was rented by Alex Tirta, who is the boss of a nightclub.

"I think we can no longer trust Firli's denials, yes," Yudi told reporters, Wednesday, November 1.

Yudi then mentioned that this kind of rebuttal had also been conveyed by Firli before the Polda Metro Jaya investigated the alleged extortion of the KPK leadership against Syahrul. This moment occurred when he denied that he had never met any NasDem Party politicians other than during cabinet meetings.

"But the reality is that photos are circulating. Well, then the photos circulating, it is acknowledged that there was a meeting on the badminton field," he said.

So, he hopes that the search that has been carried out at the house will shed light on the Firli-Syahrul meeting.

"Then whether it needs to be conveyed to the public, it has arrived material, it means that Firli's statement has also been denied that there was a meeting. Yes, we'll see how it goes," said Yudi.

As previously reported, Syahrul nodded his head when asked about the meeting at the house of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta. At that time SYL was asked by the media crew after undergoing an examination at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, today Monday, October 30.

"Yes, ask the Regional Police, ask the regional police," said Syahrul after nodding his head while riding the prisoner's car.

He nodded again when asked about the meeting. However, Syahrul did not provide any information because the prison guard immediately escorted him.

Meanwhile, Firli Bahuri claimed that there had never been a meeting with Syahrul at Jalan Kertanegara's house. The statement was made after he attended the 2023 'Army Chiefs of Staff Cup (KSAD)' badminton tournament at Gelora Bung Karno Arena, Jakarta, Sunday, October 29.

"Nothing, nothing," said Firli at the time.

Firli admitted that the house that had been searched by the police was only used to rest when he had activities in Jakarta. It is known that a search was carried out by Polda Metro Jaya investigators to find evidence of alleged extortion by the KPK leadership against Syahrul.
