Commemorating Youth Pledge Day, Four Athletes Get HTS Regent Gifts

JAKARTA - Four sports athletes who excel at the national level receive prizes from the Regent of Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Aulia Oktafiandi. The prizes in the form of coaching money and certificates of appreciation were handed over to coincide with the commemoration of the 95th Youth Pledge Day.

"Youth must not stop advancing for advanced Indonesia. On the day of this youth oath, the government continues to eradicate poverty, ignorance, corruption, drugs, hoaxes, hate speech, and many more," said Aulia at Hulu Sungai Tengah, South Kalimantan, Saturday, October 28.

Aulia handed over prizes and awards to athletes who some time ago brought the fragrance of South Kalimantan Province in the national arena, namely the 2023 West Java National Sports Festival (Fornas), with two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.

"Youth must have vision and mission and play a lot of roles for the next 30 years in order to encourage regional and national development," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

On that occasion, Aulia conveyed several important messages from the Indonesian Menpora Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo regarding the theme of the 95th Youth Pledge commemoration "Together Advance Indonesia".

The Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports advised Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency to maintain cultural heritage and the diversity of ethnicity, language and culture. This is a source of strength to advance Indonesia.

Aulia explained that technology and the flow of information are growing faster so that it creates various gaps related to understanding technology among youth.

According to him, this needs to be a concern from the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports so that youth is not left behind with advances in information and communication technology.

Along with 95 years of commemoration of youth oaths, he invited young people to continue to advance to raise enthusiasm and collaborate with the government in advancing Indonesia.

The commemoration ceremony for the Youth Pledge in Hulu Sungai Tengah begins with the offering of a colossal English dance performed by local students, then closed with Rajang Saliwang and Kuntau attractions.
