Officially As Kasad, General Agus Subiyanto Affirms The Neutrality Of The Indonesian Army In The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Agus Subiyanto emphasized his commitment to maintaining the neutrality of the Indonesian Army in the 2024 General Election. This was conveyed by General Agus after the handover ceremony at the TNI AD Headquarters (Mabesad), Jakarta, Friday 27 October.

The Kasad certificate ceremony was led by the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono. The Commander expressed his gratitude and appreciation to TNI General Dudung Abdurachman who was replaced by Agus.

Admiral Yudo then asked General Agus as Kasad to continue the work programs that had been launched by Dudung.

"To General TNI Agus Subiyanto to continue the work programs that have been designed so far, General Dudung has prepared so that later in 2024 the TNI will face general elections (elections) later the TNI will be ready," said Admiral Yudo, quoted from ANTARA.

Admiral Yudo emphasized that the TNI must be neutral after the election runs smoothly, safely, and coolly.

Meanwhile, TNI General Agus Subiyanto emphasized his commitment to maintaining the neutrality of the Indonesian Army in facing the 2024 General Election.

"Earlier, it was conveyed by our Commander, we have emphasized to all soldiers to be neutral, not to side with one pair of candidates," said Agus.

On that occasion, General Agus committed to carrying out the work program that General Dudung had launched. Agus stated that the Indonesian Army has a number of superior programs to assist government programs, such as efforts to suppress stunting.

In addition, the Indonesian Army is also trying to help people who are now facing a clean water crisis due to drought.

"We have drilled for thousands of points. Finally, the community can enjoy the water even though the weather is like now dry. There are also many other programs, of course, I will continue later," said Agus Subiyanto.

Agus also asked for prayers so that he could carry out his new task as Kasad in a mandate.

"Please pray. Hopefully I can carry out this task with the mandate," said General Agus Subiyanto.

It is known that President Jokowi inaugurated Agus Subiyanto as Kasad at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (10/25/2023). Agus, who previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Wakasad) replacing General Dudung, who was entering retirement.
