Dozens Of Youth Bandits The Perpetrators Of The Robbery That Made Bengkulu Residents Uneasy Were Arrested By The Police

BENGKULU - Bengkulu City Police (Polresta) arrested 16 perpetrators of alleged theft with violence or robbery.

The perpetrators were arrested on Wednesday (26/10) night after the police arrested two perpetrators first.

"The Bengkulu Police together with their ranks managed to reveal the alleged perpetrators of 16 perpetrators, underlying the official report received by the Selebar Police and the Bengkulu Police," said Bengkulu Police Chief, Kombes Aris Sulistyono, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 26.

Aris explained that the arrests were made because the actions of these teenagers were troubling the public.

"For the modus operandi carried out by the perpetrators, namely going around using a motorbike together carrying sharp weapons and committing violence against motorbike riders and taking the victim's motorbike or cellphone," said Aris.

The police also confiscated evidence in the form of a black samurai, a long sword, three sickles, one pari, three knives, 18 cellphones and 14 motorcycles.

For this incident, the perpetrators were threatened with Article 365 of the Criminal Code regarding violent theft with the threat of a sentence of nine years in prison.
