JAKARTA - A middle-aged woman traveling around crying hysterically when she was arrested by the security of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) because she was caught selling in the TMII area, East Jakarta.

"I want to go home, sir, Allahu Akbar. Astaghfirullah (this trade) has someone. La Ilaha Illallah, I want to go home," said the old woman who wears the hijab.

Even though he had asked for his release, the security guard still detained the woman in the hijab.

"No sir. This merchandise has not been sold," he said.

The incident was recorded by an amateur camera. Seen the old woman who was in a backpack kept crying so that she could be released by security.

Responding to this incident, TMII's Managing Director, Claudia Ingkiriwang, regretted the incident in a video that was widely circulated between security officers from outsourced partners TMII and unofficial traders.

According to Claudia, in the video, the officer is controlling unofficial traders in the TMII area on October 21, 2023.

"However, it is unfortunate that the officer acted inappropriately. We are currently investigating the incident and motives of the officer who took the video for his own actions and spread the video", Claudia said, Wednesday, October 25.

Claudia said the (security) action was not in accordance with the SOP in effect in the TMII area.

"The officer has admitted his mistake and apologized for his behavior to the unofficial trader," he said.

Claudia said both sides had made a peace agreement on October 22, 2023, yesterday.

"The TMII management has conveyed a warning to the security service provider company and asked for accountability. As of October 25, 2023, the officer is no longer on duty at TMII," he said.

Claudia promised to evaluate and improve services in the future in order to maintain the safety of TMII visitors.
