Gorontalo ASN Becomes Suspect Of Vehicle Embezzlement

GORONTALO - A State Civil (ASN) in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo, has been named a suspect in a vehicle embezzlement case.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gorontalo City Police, Kompol Leonardo Widharta, said that apart from being named a female suspect with the initials YAU (47), detention was immediately carried out in the detention room of the Gorontalo City Police Headquarters.

"Before being detained, YAU was forcibly picked up at his parents' residence in Olohuta Village, Kabila District, Bone Bolango Regency, after being absent twice by police investigators," said Kompol Leonardo as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 24.

The case involving ASN in Bone Bolango Regency originated from a loan application by YAU, by borrowing the name of one of his colleagues with the initials R, in one of the financing in the Gorontalo City area.

In the loan application, the YAU suspect accompanied a truck type vehicle as collateral. However, he said, over time, YAU sold the guaranteed vehicle, without the knowledge of the financing and this was revealed after the perpetrators were in arrears in loan payments.

"So this collateral vehicle was sold by YAU without the knowledge of the financing party. In this case, the financing party suffered losses of up to Rp235 million, and immediately reported YAU to the police," he added.

The YAU suspect is threatened with Article 35 Sub-Article 36 of Law No. 42 of 1999, concerning Fiduciary Guarantee or Article 378 of the Criminal Code Sub-Article 372 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 54 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
