Tangerang Regency Government Instructs All Health Facilities On Monkeypox Prevention

TANGERANG - The Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) has prevented the spread of monkeypox by tracing or tracing.

The Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Tangerang District Health Office, Dr. Sumihar Sihaloho, has instructed all levels of health services to anticipate this disease.

"Has made a circular to health facilities (health facilities) regarding vigilance against monkeypox," Sumihar said in his statement, Tuesday, October 24.

Although until now there has not been any suspect in Tangerang Regency who was exposed to monkeypox, he still asks all levels of health to continue to anticipate.

In addition, you must be ready at any time to take actions if someone is suspected of being exposed to this monkeypox disease.

"The point is alert if you find a case suspected of monkeypox and special actions if what health facilities should do," he said.

On his occasion, Sumihar asked the public to continue to regulate their healthy lifestyle. Especially regarding the cleanliness of the local environment.

"Because that way the spread of various existing diseases can be done prevention as early as possible," he concluded.

Previously, it was reported that the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) reported that as many as six cases of monkeypox or monkeypox in Jakarta were exposed to people with bisexual orientation and HIV (ODHIV).

"From the search results, it is known that six monkeypox patients are ODHIV and have bisexual orientation," said Director General of Disease Prevention and Control Maxi Rein Rondonuwu in Jakarta, Monday, October 23.

Maxi said the majority of confirmed monkeypox patients were men aged between 25-29 years, while the rest were men aged 30-39 years.

Based on the results of laboratory examinations as of October 13, 2023, said Maxi, the Ministry of Health detected a total of seven confirmed cases of monkeypox in Indonesia this year.

This number is outside one of the first cases found in Indonesia in mid-2022.

All confirmed cases were found in the DKI Jakarta area. In detail, one case was reported from Jatinegara, Mampang one case, Kebayoran Lama one case, Setiabudi two cases, Grogol Petamburan one case, and Kembangan one case.
