JAKARTA - Constitutional Court (MK) Judge Enny Nurbaningsih said there were seven reports that came in and were verified regarding alleged violations of the Constitutional Court judge's code of ethics related to Case Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023.

"Reports that have been submitted, I do not mention the reporter one by one, received from various groups of people, including from the advocate team who care about election issues," said Enny as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.

The Constitutional Court judge received the latest information that 13 incoming reports had to verify the truth.

"Earlier I also received information. However, I don't know if it's true or not, there have been 13 reports about it (crimination of the code of ethics), but it has not been verified until now," he said.

One of the contents of the report, he continued, was the request for resignation for the Constitutional Court judge who was involved in the preparation of Case Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023, violation of the code of ethics of the nine judges of the Constitutional Court, and the request for the immediate establishment of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK).

"There is a special report asking Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman to resign," said Enny.

Therefore, Enny said that the Constitutional Court judges had held a meeting and reached approval to immediately form the MKMK.

"In the near future, a MKMK will be formed so that it can immediately work to handle at least seven reports that have been submitted according to the procedural law in force at the MKMK," he said.

MKMK was formed based on Article 27A of Law Number 7 of 2020 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 24 of 2003 concerning the Constitutional Court

This assembly consists of three elected members, namely Jimly Asshiddiqie who represents a group of community leaders, Bintan Saragih as representatives of academic groups, and Wahiduddin Adams representing active constitutional judges.

Previously, the Constitutional Court granted some requests for judicial review of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections regarding changes to the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"Granted the petitioner's petition in part," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman in a hearing reading the verdict/decision on Monday (16/10).

The Court granted part of Case Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 submitted by an individual Indonesian citizen (WNI) named Almas Tsaqibbirru Re A who came from Surakarta, Central Java.

He requested that the requirements for presidential and vice-presidential candidates be changed to a minimum age of 40 years or experienced as regional heads, both at the provincial and district/city levels.
