City Government Prepares IDR 500 Million To Build Mataram Metro Monument Fountain

The Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara has prepared a budget of IDR 500 million for the construction of phase two fountain accessories in the Mataram Metro Monument area to strengthen the Mataram City icon as the local provincial capital.

"For the construction of phase two fountain accessories in the Mataram Metro Monument area, we have prepared a budget of IDR 500 million in the 2024 APBD," said Acting Head of the Mataram City Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office, Miftahurrahman, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.,

Miftahrrahman, who is also the Assistant for Development and Economy at the Mataram City Secretariat, said that with a budget of IDR 500 million, fountain accessories will be made in the north with the same concepts and models as the first phase of manufacture in the south.

"The construction of fountain accessories in the Mataram Metro Monument area is only made for one pias, from the four planned pias," he said.

With budget constraints, the construction of fountain accessories is carried out in stages. The budget requirement to complete fountain accessories is around Rp. 2 billion.

"Therefore, we will do fountain accessories in stages. For this year, we will do the southern part or segment, next year the north side, then only the west and east," he said.

In addition to making fountain accessories, he said, the Mataram Metro Monument area is also equipped with colorful light accessories that will face the fountain and above the Mataram Metro Monument.

"Thus, the area will look beautiful and interesting, especially at night. During MotoGP, we have tested the lights and thank God it gives an impression on the guests," he said.

For maintenance after the fountain accessories are completed, he said, the task force at PUPR will carry out routine maintenance at least two to three times a week to check the condition of water pumps, garbage, and others.

In addition, routine supervision is carried out so that the fountain pool is not misused by children to take a shower or swim as has happened in the fountain pool in Tanah Haji and Pajang.

"After the incident, our officers routinely carry out surveillance so that it does not have an impact on things that are not desirable," he said.

Miftahrrahman said the construction of a fountain pool in the Mataram Metro Monument roundabout was intended so that the entrance to the Mataram area could look more attractive and representative and gave a different impression when entering other districts/cities in this area.

"The arrangement that we carry out in the area is expected to create a different atmosphere when tourists enter the capital area of NTB Province," he said.
