6-Year-Old Boy Obscene, Former Gorontalo Regency Government Official Arrested

GORONTALO - A former regional official in North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province with the initials ME was detained by the Gorontalo Resort Police (Polres) Gorontalo in Limboto, Gorontalo Regency, due to allegations of sexual harassment in children aged 6 years.

Gorontalo Police Chief AKBP Dadang Wijaya in Gorontalo, Sunday said his party had named ME as a suspect and had been detained.

"We have detained the suspect. Now an investigation has been carried out. The incident occurred in Telaga District, Gorontalo Regency, with the victim, a six-year-old child," said the Police Chief.

ME (65) is known to be a former regional government official in North Gorontalo Regency who has been retired since 2018.

The detention of ME as a suspect has been carried out according to procedures.

"The title of the case has been carried out. ME has also undergone an examination, then examined as a suspect and immediately detained," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Gorontalo Police Iptu I Made Budiantara Putra through the Head of PPA Aiptu Sumarlin Dale.

This sexual harassment of a 6-year-old child ensnared ME on suspicion of Article 82 paragraph 1, Junto Article 76 D. Related to the crime of sexual violence against children or obscene acts.

The ME's actions against a boy were allegedly carried out by ME on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at around 11.00 WITA.

The suspect is known to have carried out his actions when the victim was shopping at his shop. The incident was revealed after the victim approached the mother in a crying condition after being harassed by the alleged perpetrator.

The victim's father found white spots on his son's clothes which were suspected to have come from the alleged perpetrator.

After knowing this, the father immediately reported it to the police
