Regarding The Plan To Meet Gibran After Being Promoted By Golkar To Become A Vice Presidential Candidate, Prabowo: As Soon As Possible

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the Gerindra Party who is also a presidential candidate (candidate) for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), Prabowo Subianto, said he would soon meet with the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

This was conveyed by Prabowo after attending the Golkar Party Rapimnas which proposed Gibran as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres), Saturday, October 21.

"As soon as possible (meet Gibran, ed)," said Prabowo before leaving the Golkar Party DPP Office, Slipi, Jakarta.

The meeting is also planned to be held with President Jokowi. But he did not specify the exact time.

"As soon as possible (will meet Jokowi, ed)," said the Indonesian Minister of Defense.

As previously reported, Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said his party agreed to propose Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) accompanying Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). This agreement was taken after the internal party held a meeting on Friday night, October 20.

This was conveyed by Airlangga at the Golkar Party National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) which was attended by the General Chair of the Gerindra Party as well as a presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

Prabowo Subianto also praised Airlangga Hartarto for being a legowo in carrying Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a vice presidential candidate. Even though the chairman of Golkar, Prabowo, called him worthy of running in the presidential election.

"I worked closely with him for 4 years. I saw his achievements, I saw his appearance at a critical time, I am not a handyman, I saw him as one of the best sons of the Indonesian nation," Prabowo said at the Golkar rapid, Saturday, October 21.

"He has a great brain, technology, has extraordinary vision, and actually I really see how big Golkar and Pak Airlangga have a big heart. I think he actually deserves to be a vice presidential candidate, but for the sake of big interests, for the sake of the national interest, today's people show that a great soul does not think group, does not think ego, thinks of the interests of the Indonesian nation," said Prabowo.
