JAKARTA - Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar was again investigated in the investigation into alleged corruption cases in the form of extortion or gratification by the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, today.

It has been recorded that he has provided information three times during the investigation process to investigation.

"Including the Semarang Police Chief, they are still being investigated," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, when confirmed, Wednesday, October 18.

Kombes Irwan Anwar previously testified on October 11. This means that there have been two cases at the investigation stage.

However, Syahrul Yasin Limpo's nephew also gave information when the alleged extortion case was still under investigation.

"That's right (it has been examined twice in the investigation stage)," he said.

On the other hand, Ade also said that the examination of the former Deputy Chairperson of the KPK for the 2007-2011 period, Mochammad Jasin, was said to have been completed since this afternoon.

"It's finished (the examination of M Jasin), starting earlier at 10.30 WIB until 13.30 WIB," said Ade.

Meanwhile, the series of cases of alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo began when Polda Metro Jaya received Dumas on August 12, 2023.

With the complaint, the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya collected information on the basis of a statement collection order (pulbaket) issued on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Not long after, investigators issued an investigation warrant on August 21. At this stage, a number of witnesses were examined, one of which was SYL.

Then, after the series of investigations were completed, investigators carried out a case title. As a result, a criminal element was found so that the status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.
