JAKARTA - Acting Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA), Lia Latifah, said that the children of L's mother, who threw their babies in a bucket, had been brought by her father, who was a member of the TNI.

The father, who is serving in Cijantung, has coordinated with the Army Wives Association (Persit) to raise his children.

"So now it is under the supervision of his father. But in collaboration with Persit's mothers who are in his father's unit," said Lia when confirmed, Wednesday, October 18.

Lia explained that L's children were temporarily cared for in Persit because the mother was still recovering, so they were asked not to interact with their children.

"Her husband and wife (L) are still together. Those who are separated are their children. Those who are separated, but remain under our supervision, under the supervision of Komnas PA. So the children are separated in a safe place," he said.

"We ask not to interact with the mother first. Because the mother must have a healing process first, carried out by psychiatrists, or doctors who handle her mother's psyche," he continued.

On that occasion, Lia also revealed that at first L's husband did not know what his wife had done to his children.

Therefore, the husband admitted that he was shocked when he heard the news that his wife had committed a dangerous act against his 4-month-old son.

"Because her husband didn't know there was an incident like that, he was even grateful for an incident like this. So he knows what his wife's condition is like. He was quite surprised. That's why I was asked to provide assistance to his wife and children," he concluded.

Previously, a woman at Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, had the heart to throw her 4-month-old baby into a bucket filled with water. The mother with the initials L is the wife of a member of the TNI.

"Yes, the TNI, the service in Cijantung. This is the second husband, the first was the TNI too, only divorced," said L's neighbor when met at Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.
