Advanced As A DPR Candidate, Deputy Governor Of Lampung Officially Resigns

BANDAR LAMPUNG - Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Lampung Province Fahrizal Darminto said the Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of Lampung Chusnunia Chalim had officially resigned on October 5.

"As of the issuance of the decree signed on October 5, 2023, Mrs. Chusnunia Chalim will automatically no longer be Deputy Governor of Lampung," said Fahrizal Darminto as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 16.

He said that in accordance with the provisions in the Law, if he has declared his resignation from his position as deputy regional head, then there is no longer any right to use all facilities.

"In accordance with the provisions, if you have resigned from your position, of course, you will no longer use local government-owned facilities. Because everything is official," he said.

A similar response was conveyed by the Chairman of the Lampung Provincial DPRD, Mingrum Gumay.

"Regarding the resignation of the Deputy Governor of Lampung yesterday, there was a notification letter, and it was submitted at the plenary meeting," said Mingrum Gumay.

The dismissal of Chusnunia Chalim as Deputy Governor of Lampung has also been approved in a plenary meeting and has been forwarded to the President through the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri).

"There has been a letter of dismissal, and it has been approved and has been forwarded to the President as well, so it is legal," he said.

It is known that Chusnunia Chalim has submitted his resignation letter as deputy regional head after running for legislative candidate (Sabareg) for the DPR in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) since August 11, 2023.

The term of office of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Lampung ended in December 2023. Previously, the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia had announced the name of the Candidate for Legislative Member (Babileg) of the DPR RI which was included in the Provisional Candidate List (DCS), and there it was written that Chusnunia Chalim's name, who is also currently serving as Deputy Governor of Lampung, was included as the Legislative Election of Lampung II from the National Awakening Party (PKB).
