DKI DPRD Highlights Revitalization Of Sidewalks Not Accompanied By Network Cable Arrangement

JAKARTA - Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD highlighted the inconsistency in the construction of integrated utility network facilities (SJUT) by revitalizing sidewalks in Jakarta. Currently, many sidewalks have been revitalized. However, this is not accompanied by the arrangement of SJUT which is placed under it.

Thus, to pursue the expansion of SJUT's arrangement, the pedestrian path in Jakarta has the potential to be dismantled again. Member of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Deserves Nainggolan to mention that there was a lot of damage to sidewalks and shoulder roads due to the uncoordinated arrangement of SJUT.

"In the future, there will definitely be another demolition. So I think this needs to be harmonized," said Pantas in a meeting to discuss the draft DKI Regional Budget for the 2024 fiscal year at Grand Cempaka, Bogor, West Java, Thursday, October 12.

It is appropriate to warn, starting in 2024, the implementation of development between sidewalks and SJUT must be in harmony. According to him, it is very unfortunate if the best designed sidewalks have to fall apart due to the installation of utility networks.

This is in response to the application for a sidewalk revitalization budget by the Bina Marga Office of Rp160 billion from the draft DKI Regional Budget for the 2024 fiscal year.

"This needs serious attention because in all areas there has been repair of the sidewalk, but until today the progress of SJUT development is still far from expectations," he explained.

Responding to this, the Assistant for Development and Environment of the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province, Afan Adriansyah Idris, stated that he was ready to finalize the planning time for the arrangement of SJUT and the revitalization of sidewalks.

Regarding the alignment between SJUT and the sidewalk, this will be sorted. We have to build the one below first, meaning the SJUT must be finished first. After the SJUT is finished, then the sidewalk construction," said Afan.

The DKI Provincial Government targets Jakarta to be free of air cables thanks to the overall arrangement of SJUT in 2028. Currently, the SJUT arrangement has been carried out along 84.4 kilometers on 28 roads by PT Jakarta Propertindo. Then, 8 kilometers on four other roads are carried out by Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya.

Before the transfer of the aerial cables is carried out, the DKI Provincial Government first revitalizes the sidewalks on the roads. In the revitalization, manholes are prepared as access to the placement route for the utility network underground.
