Prabowo: KIM Waits For The Constitutional Court's Decision To Determine A Vice Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto said the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) would wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates to announce their companions in the 2024 Presidential Election.

"We'll see later, and wait for the verdict," said Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

According to him, the declaration of a pair from the Forward Indonesia Coalition was announced near the deadline for registration at the KPU.

"This is our democracy and everything can happen until the deadline for the last registration. The political tradition in Indonesia islast minute," said Prabowo.

Regarding the proposals from the DPC and the Gerindra Party DPD which voiced that President Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, become a candidate for vice president.

It was also emphasized that the determination of this couple was not only Gerindra's decision, but was brought to this coalition for mutual agreement.

"I say this is a decision with all coalition parties," said Prabowo.

Prabowo admitted that the name Gibran Rakabuming appeared from below to accompany him to run in the 2024 presidential election.

Although still young, Prabowo continued, the proposal was the will of the people and received support from the people.

"We are waiting for the Constitutional Court's decision and looking at the national political situation until the deadline for closing registration later, everything can happen," he said.

Including the option of joining Ganjar Pranowo everything could happen.

"I have a good relationship with Pak Ganjar and we want everything to get along well and run smoothly," he said
