YOGYAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian removed Dikdik Sutarno Nugrahawan from the position of Acting Mayor (Walkot) Cimahi. Dikdik is considered unable to suppress inflation and demean rice prices in his area. So what is the reason PJ Mayor of Cimahi was removed?

Tito informed that the removal was during a coordination meeting for inflation control in 2023, Monday 9 October. Tito initially said that he had repeatedly emphasized that inflation in Cimahi City was high.

Tito after that removed Dikdik. He said the letter of removal was issued on Saturday (7/10).

Acting Mayor Of Cimahi Denies Being Unable To Control Inflation

Acting (Pj) Mayor of Cimahi Dikdik Suratno Nugrahawan received a decision on a term of office that was not extended by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian.

"With this decision (not extending), it did not stop us from continuing to perform well, all services are running as usual," said Dikdik, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 10.

Dikdik said the decision given by the Minister of Home Affairs did not affect the performance within the Cimahi City Government.

"So far it's been fine because we as state civil servants (ASN) of course what must be put forward is achievement, dedication of loyalty and not despicable," he said.

Regarding the removal of himself as Acting Mayor, Dikdik denied this. Dikdik admitted that he had not received a decree (SK) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

Furthermore, he conveyed that his tenure as Acting Mayor of Cimahi will end on October 22, 2023.

"This is something that the Minister of Home Affairs did not speak like that (about the removal), what the Minister of Home Affairs said was replacing me with another official," he said.

Regarding not being able to reduce the inflation rate in the region, Dikdik denied this. He emphasized that his party had worked optimally to reduce the inflation rate in Cimahi City. Even in October it decreased to 2.3 percent.

"In January we reached inflation at 7 percent and in October the Cimahi City inflation was 2.3 percent, below the West Java average at 2.35 percent," said Dikdik.

Dikdik admitted that he always evaluated the performance of the inflation control team, to continue to perform in terms of reducing the rate of inflation in Cimahi City and proven to be able to reduce the figure to 2.3 percent.

"In terms of controlling this inflation from time to time it is so intensive and the facts can be seen from the results I convey," he said.
