BMKG Researches The Findings Of 30 Magnetic Medan Area Points In Deli Serdang, North Sumatra

NORTH SUMATRA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) made measurements at more than 30 points suspected of magnetic field areas in Kutalimanbaru District, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra (North Sumatra)

"BMKG has carried out area measurements using PPM Geomagnet equipment (Proton Preccsion Magnetometer), there are more than 30 initial suspicions of the influence of magnetic fields in the region," said Head of BMKG Class I Geophysics Station Deli Serdang Agus Riyanto, Monday 9 October, confiscated by Antara.

He said that this initial research that was carried out last week with the team received information that the area could have a magnetic soil content.

"Then some of the experiments we did, such as using motorbikes, bicycles and cars, all of them went up to the top," he said.

However, this study revealed that it was not only iron content that was attracted upwards but in mineral water bottles.

"We are interested in continuing this research, because the water element can also be attracted to the top," he said.

For this reason, Agus said BMKG Deli Serdang Class I Geophysics Station is still waiting for tools from Jakarta to measure gravity in the region.

"For that, we will conduct further studies by waiting for a tool called a gratification meter, now from there it can be seen whether there is Earth or magnetic gravity," he said.

Meanwhile, Agus said that there was no significant influence on the magnetic field, only if there was a traffic jam because it could move on its own.

"For that, later there will be recommendations to the local government regarding signs for motorists," he said.

He added that his party also provided recommendations to land managers at PMS Puncak Marga Silima to be used as a tourism object.
