3 Hours Worked On By Metro Police Investigators, Minister Of Agriculture Yasin Limpo Tells Many About Extortion Cases

JAKARTA - Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo revealed his goal of being present at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Thursday, October 5. For more than three hours, he admitted that he was asked about the extortion case. "Everything I know I have said and I openly convey what investigators need, faced by a lot earlier, and the process lasted for almost 3 hours. I am very tired, while I just returned home," said Yasin Limpo at NasDem Tower, Jakarta, Thursday evening. This NasDem Party politician did not disclose in detail the extortion process in question. He only mentioned that the police asked for information from him regarding the complaints made by the community on August 12, 2023. "What is related to the things reported by the community is related to things that, yes, what kind of report is related to extortion and so on," said Yasin Limpo. Syahrul Yasin Limpo finally arrived in the country from Europe on Wednesday, October 4 after it was reported missing. News that NasDem politicians could not be contacted initially was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Harvick Hasnul Qolbi. Arriving in the country, Syahrul immediately visited NasDem Tower, Wednesday, October 4 evening. The next day, Thursday, October 5, Syahrul said goodbye to his subordinates at the Ministry of Agriculture to the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. At the Regional Police, Yasin Limpo did not talk much to the media crew. After leaving the Regional Police, he headed to NasDem Tower and provided further information. The KPK has raised the status of the investigation into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture to investigate. There are already suspects who have been named but no details have been given. However, information circulated that the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, and Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta were dragged into this case. The KPK said there were three clusters of alleged corruption handled by investigators. The details are extortion related to positions, gratuities, and allegations of money laundering (TPPU). The anti-corruption commission has conducted a search. At the official residence of Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, investigators found Rp30 billion in cash consisting of rupiah denominations and foreign currencies and firearms.

Then, the search was continued at the Ministry of Agriculture's Office. As a result, documents related to the corruption case were found.
